These are all very good tips, but one in particular jumped out at me:

2. Spending too much time on social news networks like digg, reddit etc.

This is something I struggle with. Submitting your blog posts on these sites can be a great way to get traffic, but almost every time I go to submit a story, I get sidetracked reading all the other stuff on the site.

If I'm not careful, I can waste an hour surfing around reading all the interesting stories highlighted on there. Digg is particularly bad for this since it's mainly tech related stuff and I'm really a geek at heart.

I don't have a solution for this, other than to be aware of it and don't let yourself get sucked into the time vortex that these sites can become. Either set aside a time for your surfing activities or make note of the stories you want to read and come back later when you have some time to read them.
