Getting Yourself Organized

A lot of people make New Years resolutions to get better organized. In our business, that can mean a lot of things.

  • Better tracking for your websites
  • Creating a daily routine
  • Getting all your website login and hosting information organized
  • Getting your PLR collection sorted and into some kind of database

And there are lots more.

If getting organized is one of your goals this year, I suggest you go buy yourself a copy of Getting Things Done by David Allen. This book has helped me more than any other "system" for getting myself organized and making sure I don't miss important actions.

There are plenty of websites that cover the GTD methods as well, such as 43folders.com, lifehacker.com and of course davidco.com, the official Getting Things Done website.

You can learn a lot of what's in the book on those sites but I really recommend reading the book or listening to it in an audio version first.

It's amazing how much more effective you can be when there aren't 100 things cluttering up your mind, all calling for your attention. Getting Things Done helps you get them out of your head and into a follow-up system that will keep you on track.
