Seth Godin's Take On The "Squidoo Slap" (Among Other Things)
Seth Godin is one of the founders of Squidoo. In case you haven't heard of him before, he's developed quite a following in the marketing world with his books (Permission Marketing, The Big Moo, Small Is The New Big, among others).
Howie Schwartz recently pinned Seth down for an interview about Squidoo, including the so-called Squidoo Slap. According to the interview, Squidoo has in fact seen a drop in its Google traffic over the last week or so.
You can read the entire interview with Seth Godin on Howie's blog. Make sure you read through the comments - there's some nuggets in there too.

[...] UPDATE: I just wrote a follow up to this post [...]
How did they devalue Squidoo? On most sites I have seen penalized they received a minus 30 or minus 950 or whatever and no matter what term you search for the site would be at least that far down in the rankings. If you search squidoo in Google the squidoo.com still ranks first and I have a squid that still ranks on the first page for a fairly good search term but I do agree that the squids have dropped in rankings.
In other words I know they are devalued but am curious how it was done if not with a minus whatever penalty.
